prayer request

there's been a lot of sickness going around with our staff. some have really bad sinus infections, some have had flu-like symptoms with a fever and stuff. there's already been 7 people who've gone to the doctor to get shots in their butts. things have been pretty crazy. my big fear is that i'll be next in line to get it. i'm trying to make sure that i'm drinking and taking my medicine and stuff so that my immunity is up. but when you don't get much sleep to begin with, it's hard. i don't have insurance right now, so if i get sick, i'm pretty much screwed. i have to run and jump in the shower before worship...i was just going to update because more people read this than call me. love!

me with leaving site with my birthday crown

i had one awesome birthday

first of all, let me just say that i had a great week. i celebrated my birthday on wednesday. it's kind of weird to think that i'm 24. i definitely don't feel that old. i always thought by that age, i'd have a handle on things and know my life plan. there's still do many things that i have no idea and no direction about. in some ways it's really scary and almost terrifying, but in some ways it's almost peaceful and refreshing. i have no idea where God wants me. i know that in some form or another i'm called to use my gifts to do ministry in some capacity, but there's so many forms that could take. my prayer right now is that i just live each day abundantly...that i am pouring all i have into these students that come to camp...that i'm being intentional with the rest of the staff...that i'm building up and not tearing down...and that i'm challenging myself to be more of a servant, even in the difficult times when i don't necessarily want to.

i think for the most part, that's what this week has taught me. i watched my group work together as part of the body of Christ this week. they were excited to be here. they were willing to serve by doing the little things, and at the same time they were continuing to encourage and lift each other up. it was just neat to watch my students step up and take charge and come together as a team.

my birthday was amazing. seriously, it was the best day i've had since i've been here. thank you to all who called to wish me a great day. thanks for the cards and the packages with all kinds of goodies. it makes my heart so happy to know that you guys are thinking about me and praying for me. i love you all and appreciate your friendship, even in the absense.

it's been a long time, friend

i haven't been able to update because the internet here has been pretty screwy. i should be good from now on, but unfortunately it's pretty uncontrolable. the first week of camp was great for pulling off a first time joint camp. there were a lot of things that had the potential to fall apart, but overall i think it was pretty amazing that it came together so smoothly.

we have a website where all the camp pictures are. i posted about it before, but i didn't realize that you had to be invited. so if you're interested in checking it out, let me know and i'll send you an invitation. there's some pretty fun pictures up.

my staff is awesome. it's hard to believe that we've only been with each other for a little over two weeks. it seems like we've been together for a lot longer. everytime we're together we have so much fun. my prayer is that we just continue to be unified.

my goal for next week is to have a story to tell for each day...hopefully i'll have the time to share some of them here.

hey everyone! camp is going great. i've been wanting to post, but i just got the internet today. i did want to let everyone know that i'm great. my staff is going to be awesome. camp starts monday, so i still have a lot to do, but i wanted to take a sec and update. i'm putting up a website that will have pics from camp...there's already staff training pics up. it might be a pain, because you have to create a login name, but if you're interested, check it out.
