See Ya, Netflix!

I've been contemplating cancelling my Netflix account for a month or so.  I used to use it...a lot.  Probably more than I'd like to admit.  But since January 2010, I've rented seven movies.  Seven.  How do I know that?  Because I looked at my history, right before I cancelled it.  Now, I have watched about 5 movies streaming from my Wii. But when it comes down to it, I've paid $160 to watch seven movies. And I sent some of those back without even watching them!  I just couldn't justify wasting so much money.

In light of cancelling Netflix, there's a great groupon out today for those times when I want to rent something I didn't get a chance to see in the theater. It's $1 for 3 DVD Rentals - 66% off original price!  It's good until March 2011.  Check it out here. If for some reason, it doesn't come up, just search Nashville deals.  This particular Groupon is good anywhere in the US though!. I'm definitely going to take advantage.  And while I'm sure I'll miss having Netflix, I love Redbox!

Tis the Season...for Christmas Cards

Last week, someone told me about an amazing holiday promotion from Shutterfly where bloggers can get 50 free holiday cards! Perfect timing for me because I've been trying to decide where to order my holiday cards this year.  I'm totally taking advantage of this opportunity this year!

I took a look at some of the cards  and I absolutely love this Merry Plaid card here and the Retro Plaid card here and Peppermint Dots here.  You can check out all the different options for holiday photo cards by clicking here

I'm not sure which design will work best for my great Christmas card idea for this year, but I know any one I pick will look great.  I absolutely love Shutterfly and free things!  I've had an account with them for years and use it to print pictures frequently.  If you're not already a Shutterfly member, you can go ahead and sign up and receive 50 free 4x6 prints.  Plus, you can pick up your photos at Target, Walgreens, or CVS (always a plus for busy people).
They also have other great gift ideas if you are still looking for great Christmas gifts.  Last year, I ordered a photo calendar for a friend and it ended up being the perfect gift.  You can see all of Shutterfly's calendars here.

Now, I can't tell you exactly what I'm planning on putting on my card this year, because if you know me, then you know I love the surprise of it all.  But I promise, it will be good! I'll be sure I post it after I give everyone time to get theirs in the mail.  Now, I just need to make sure my address book is updated so I can send these out to all my friends.
