Circle, Circle. Dot, Dot. Now You Got Your Cootie Shot!

I'm starting to get super excited about Africa, but at the same time, there are so many things to do!  Shots are the biggest concern at the moment. I spent some time on the CDC's website trying to figure out what shots I have to get before the trip, how early I have to get them. Then I spent some more time researching prices.  Then I spent more time trying to track down vaccines I've already had and records.  Not an easy task by any means.  After researching all this for an hour or so, I had a break down moment.

"It's going to cost me a fortune."

"I don't have the time."

"It's so inconvenient."

"It's not easy to understand."

But then, Friday night at our church's appreciation gala, Pete was praying to wrap up the evening.  In his prayer, he mentioned missions.  Specifically Africa.  And I got so excited all over again.  No matter how much crap I have to put up with, or how expensive it will be, or how much time it takes up, I know that there's a reason I'm going.  And it's good to be reminded of that.

Refreshing

Over Christmas, I took a much needed break.  I was overwhelmed.  Exhausted really.  I had several days worth of PTO that I needed to take before I lost them, so I took full advantage.  I retreated to Kentucky for 10 days.  TEN. WHOLE. DAYS.  It was glorious!

I didn't have an agenda.  Just celebrate Christmas.  Spend time with my family.  Enjoy life.  And rest.

And that's exactly what I did!
