I know it's only August 31st and summer isn't offically over yet. But as I was driving home from work tonight, I couldn't help but notice it's not too far off. The temperature is finally begining to drop (at least a little), and the leaves are already starting to change. It's going to be a beautiful fall. I've always been a huge fan of summer. I think mostly because it meant no school, and of course, my birthday. What's not fun about those two very important things to a little kid? But in recent years I've definitely learned to embrace the fall. It's a season of change...and for the last few years, that's definitely held true in my life. I moved to Nashville in the fall of 2005. It's hard to believe that it was almost two years ago. It was definitely a change I welcomed with open arms. But last August, I had to accept an even bigger change in my life...the loss of my father. I don't really think it's something that you ever really "get used to," but rather it becomes a huge part of who you are, and who you become.
As much as I want to hold on to the summer, I really think I'm ready to accept the changes that the fall will bring. Last week, I signed a contract on a condo and will hopefully be closing at the end of September. I'm excited about starting a new adventure and a new chapter in my life...even if it means no concerts, Starbucks, or fun...
But at least for the weekend, I'm going to try to send the summer off with a proper farewell...

That’s my life...
If everything goes as planned, I will be signing a contract on a condo tomorrow. I am excited and nervous. Everyone keeps giving me a hard time about my committment issues.
I went to the dentist yesterday. He thought I was 19. I just laughed and said "Not quite."
Reese's put out a special edition of peanut butter and banana creme Reese's cups. Someone brought me one to try. They made me want to gag.
I got my tires rotated and balanced yesterday. I think they forgot the balance part...because something was not right once my car hit 65mph. I took it back, it should be fixed when I get off work.
I went to Bowling Green last night to have dinner with my brother. It's a little over an hour drive. I got on the interstate to come home last night and it looked like a parking lot. It took me 3 1/2 hrs to get home. It was way past my bedtime when I got home. I was definitely cranky.
Our electricity went off sometime during the night. I overslept...but only by about 30 minutes. Thank goodness for that internal alarm clock.
I am working the front desk at our office right now. I don't know how I got asked to do it, but working the front desk is really like a vacation. I just have to sit here and answer the phone. It's only rang 3 times in the 3 hours I've been sitting here.
I need to find things to do that don't cost money.
Britany Spears was suppose to record a duet with Justin Timberlake, but dropped out at the last minute. Don't worry JT, I'll come sing with you!
